My Picks for Best Video Games 2011

DC Universe Online Standard EditionDC Universe Online - (PS3 / PC) – In Stores Now - Finally a MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online Game) for the DC Universe, not only can you create your own Superhero or Super Villains. The depth and detail in this game is amazing you can spend hour looking around the city finding directions to the Wayne mausoleum, or the wanted posters throughout the city. You get to go on missions with some of the legends of DC Comics Superman, Batman, Lex Luthor, or The Joker. The graphics for this game looks awesome for a MMO, World of Warcraft’s graphics look good but the graphics on this game kicks WOW in the balls.

Batman: Arkham CityBatman: Arkham City – (PS3 / Xbox 360) – Release Date of Oct. 3, 2011 - Batman: Arkham City is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum. Which I think was the best Batman game ever made. As Batman you must go into the dangerous Arkham City to rescue Cat Woman and find Hugo Strange one of the only men who know your true identity. Considering how great Arkham Asylum was this game should be hours and hours of thug beating Batarang throwing fun.

Portal 2Portal 2 – (PS3 / Xbox 360 / PC) – Release Date of April 19, 2011 - If you are one of the few people who haven’t played the first portal you’re missing out go buy it. Portal is a puzzle game that uses physics, gravity, and a gun that creates portals to save your Chell from a homicidal computer named GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System). Portal 2 picks up where the last game left off with a new Chell, more puzzles in even more dangerous environments, and the return of GLaDOS. Along with the addition of anti-gravity gel, spring boards, and cake this game is sure to receive as many awards as it predecessor.

RageRage – (PS3 / Xbox 360 / PC) – Release Date of Sept. 13, 2011 – Rage is a first person shooter with elements of third person racing / demolition derby style mayhem. Rage takes place in the not so distant future after the world was decimated by and asteroid. You are one of the survivors that are fighting off bandits, gangs, and mutants with an arsenal of futuristic weapons. The real excitement about this game is that it is powered with id’s cutting-edge new id Tech 5 engine with the graphics running at an amazing 60 Frames per second. This engine is sure to change the face of games in the future. Watch out this game will be a powerhouse.

Mortal KombatMortal Kombat – (PS3 & Xbox 360) – Release date April 26, 2011 - If you were a fan of the Original Mortal Kombat this reboot is just what the Doctor ordered. This game has some great graphics, sick combos, and bloody finishers. Mortal Kombat has returned to it 2D roots for better maneuverability and control. They have also added a new four person tag team kombat mode, enhanced online features, and a co-op arcade for the fans of fighting games this game is a must have.

  1. Portal 2 sounds awesome! I was a huge fan of the first Portal, though never finished it (XBox 360 issues).
